Alloderm
Hey guys.
I spoke with Dr. Reed for over an hour last Friday about his procedures. As most of you probably know, he advocates Alloderm and said that in the eight years that he has been tracking his patients, he hasn't had any of them lose a significant girth in his Alloderm implants.
I knew that he had a good relationship with the Serbian docs and spoke with him about that and some of the concerns that I have about them, etc. He confirmed that he has been to Serbia and both of the docs there had been to Miami 3-4 times and he had a lot of respect for them. According to Dr. Reed, the Alloderm process is a scaffold process as well in as much as the human tissue in the strips from the donor is gone and your own body's cells fill in the space after your capillaries grow in. That's my layman's, dumbed-down explanation. lol
For whatever it's worth, I found Dr. Reed to be informative, helpful, and sincere in our conversation. I liked him. He wasn't opportunistic, and more than once told me that I really don't need the procedure. I was talking to him about having the ligaments cut and later going back for Alloderm.
How do you guys feel about Alloderm?
