So a couple moths back I had posted that I was looking for a phalloplasty surgeon to get surgery for a penis implant here in southern California. After lots of researching the internet and talking to a couple patients of Dr Rosenthal and Dr Elist I decided to go with Elist.
Originally I had scheduled surgery with Rosenthal to get the belloderm procedure, paid the down payment and all. One week before surgery with Rosenthal I cancelled and went with Elist for the silicone implant. I guess I just had to many mixed feelings about the belloderm, " what if the graft dosent take to the body, hows it going to hold up down the road with such little research on the material, dont get as much girth as you do with the silicone implant etc etc " I just had an uneasy feeling about the belloderm I think. I am now 1 week post op Dr Elist and his silicone implant, I can say that so far it seems extremely rigid and painful, however received a good amount of girth and alittle length since I had the ligament cut too. I just took the drain tube out yesterday which does feel somewhat better, however these erections at night are down right miserable. I am having some issues as far as whats with the ridges on the side of the shaft, also it looks as if the implant has shifted somewhat to the right side because its looking uneven. Dr Elist tells me that to keep wrapping and that the implant will drop to make a more even look over time, also that a so called capsule will form to make it look more natural. I dont know but so far it still hurts like crazy when these erections happen at night, also its alittle painful squeezing my penis, this look of the implant shifting sideways bothers me plus it looks like I lost some length in the erect state. Im hoping this is all just normal 1 week post op issues and that im just over reacting, we will see I guess. Next week im supposed to take out these stitches so we'll see how that goes. I would love to hear any feedback that you guys might have, thanks |

Dear Soldier,
Well done for going through with a difficult choice Its difficult for us to say whether you made the right choice as there are pros and cons for both methods... But whats important now is that you have to shift your mind to make sure you fully support your decision so that your body allows as much happy healing as possible. Follow the doctors orders to the T, wrapping properly seems to be pretty important There are lots of good guys on here that have said the same as you, in fact everyone who has had any surgery down there finds the first few days/weeks a pain but as you get used to it and the pain subsides you wont remember how bad it feels now weeks down the line Your mind will play all kinds of tricks on you at this stage, so try not to look at it and over analyse, think too much about anything, be like a robot and just follow protocol and keep your mind positive and strong. Stay in touch and thanks for posting |

Hey Londonland, thank you so much for the reassurance your words of advice help tremendously. Im not going to lie, I have been having feeling of regret as well as wanting to just go back and have Elist take this thing out lol. Like you said I need to train myself to think positive and follow all the docs instructions to the tee. The implant is almost looking slightly deformed on one side, im hoping this is just part of the healing and the docs right that the implant will fall into place.
Thanks again londonland, ill keep everyone posted that is looking to this site for advice and seeing what other peoples experiences are. |

Read a bunch of the elist threads. there is a lot of info there and you may see what we have been going thru...
The ridges will go away very slowly and the pain of erections at nite too. Good luck with your healing and keep us posted...We all need each other's support since there is so much that is not really solidified about all these operatiions! |

Hey, Soldier: Give yourself a good chance. Think about healing. See youself with the penis you always wanted. Relax. Lisaten to Londonlad. Follow Elist's orders. Cosmetic surgery takes time, time, and more time. Slowly but surely things will work out.
Good luck, ol' buddy. |

Hang in there Soldier,(sounds like my old drill instr.) sorry,....but I was in your shoes about 9 weeks ago, I was seriously second guessing my decision, and thought the pain was never going to end! you're no doubt going to go through periods like that as well. But all you can do now is strive to get through it in as good of shape as you possibly can, and you will get through it! time will pass and you will slowly heal and hopefully everything goes well like it did for me, there are a lot of success stories on these threads and I bet every one of us has gone through the phase that your in now, but it really helped me when I discovered this site and these supportive guys (also when I was one week out) so continue to do what Elist tells you and know your not alone, besides if you got the OK to take your drain out already, that is a very good sign! I had issues with it, the stitches are nothing compared to that, just remember to baby your new dick, and whatever you do, don't try anything too soon!
Your penis will smooth out, but it takes time, I wrapped somewhat tightly during the day to help smooth it, and loose at night to allow for .... you know... the pain! lol! and yes, a capsule does form, and that really helps. As far as rigidness, it does soften up some and becomes much more flexible, but you won't have a real bendable dick anymore, but it's not that bad, actually I'm not totally healed yet myself, but things have gotten so much better since I was at your stage, so you have a lot of guys at different stages here to gather information and support from. take care and try to have a good weekend! |

Hey guys, just wanted to drop by and thank you for all your support. Ill tell you what, at this time I really needed these pep talks thats for sure. I almost called Elist yesterday and was willing to drive up to L.A and have him rip this thing out LOL! Good God these erections are hell at night, sure cant sleep much. Im taking your guys advice in that all will smooth out and work out fine, especially the ridges and this void space on the left side on the top of my shaft below the head.
I think some of the problem is Elist dosent explain a whole lot to you after the surgery on what to expet. He is an ultra nice guy, however he seems like everythings almost rushed in a way, just a busy guy I guess. I just still have more questions for him, although its so nice to have this site to be able to talk to you guys that are in similar situations. So marknmau, revengeofdog, mustang, uncle jj, londonland...thanks a bunch you guys are awesome. Ill post pictures in a couple weeks |
