Hi,
This is a question for all of the guys who have had the Elist implant for a good amount of time as well as thoughts from new patients. The general consensus from everything I've read is that you'll have what seems to be a large(girthwise) semi-erect because of the rigidity of the implant and that flexibility decreases quite a bit. Can you guy's still wear athletic cups? Or wear fairly tight underwear that minimizes the bulge while playing sports and doing other athletic activities? Have you guys experimented with/found underwear brands that serve that purpose well? I would imagine that after some time of healing, around 3 - 4 months; although the penis is not as flexible as before, it would still be okay to wear something tight if it's only for a limited amount of time. The time that you're performing something athletic which could range from 1/2 hour to 3 hours. I figure that with getting erections regularly as well as wearing more breathable clothes the rest of the day the minimal amount of time the post-op penis is constricted wouldn't really have any negative effects. Thoughts/opinions/experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, stormy |

Stormy, I haven't tried a cup, just because I'm not into any sport that much and haven't wore one for decades, but after 12 weeks I am just now being able to wear the stretch type briefs that hold pretty snug. For a couple months you just can't keep it bent up in a position that holds really tight, you have to let it just kind of hang there as much as you can. So basically I guess the answer is yes, in time, it should'nt be a problem to keep your highly active sports shcedule. But you might have to wait a bit after surg to start in again, so if you have a time of year that your not as active, I would definitly do it then. I bike run walk, and haven't run much until recently because of that reason, but this last week I have been able to start up again w/o any problems. By the way, you do gain some flaccid length as well as girth. Good luck man.

If you ride motorcycles and you wear leather pants, then it is a problem. The pants will not fit unless they were big to start with. Also, on the bike, your big penis is in the way if you ride sports bikes or even Harleys. Swimming is ok, you need to get shorts that will keep your penis inside. Running is a bit awkward but in time it may be ok.
